5 Healthy Recipes that Won't Break the Bank

Feeding a family healthy, tasty meals that won’t break the bank, or taking time you don’t have can be a challenge. But using some of our great veg like kale or spinach can help, which is why we have created five simple, speedy but mouth-watering family friendly recipes, that can each be made for less than £1.50 per person.

There is something here for everyone from a fabulous veggie Spinach and Lentil Dahl to a wonderful aromatic and spicy Cajun Kale Jambalaya or the moreish Spinach Potato Cakes with Tuna. We hope you enjoy trying them!

We’re starting off with our flavour-packed Spinach & Lentil Dahl, topped with kale crisps the whole dish costs around 80p per person.

Spinach Potato Cakes with Tuna make a tasty supper or weekend brunch that won’t disappoint. You can even use leftover mashed potato to make them!

Our easy Cajun Kale Jambalaya sounds great and certainly tastes fab but we promise that the one thing it isn’t is difficult. As you only need one pan to cook it in there’s less washing up to add to the plus points too! It’s just the right blend of spices for us, but feel free to dial up the heat if you like.

Everyone loves spaghetti and meatballs – and we’ve made this family favourite even better by adding some kale to both the meatballs and the sauce. We’ve used pork mince in our Pork & Kale Meatballs with Tomato Spaghetti, but you could use whatever mince you prefer.

We’ve combined a little French inspiration along with some Mediterranean flavours. Our Kale and Pine Nut Galette is simple to make and perfect for sharing with family and friends this summer.
